Dear skinny bitches who have the cure

Ok, I think the time has come for me to finally address the people who want to help. The people who have all the answers. The ones that have this awesome and incredible knowledge bestowed upon them. The ones who know how to solve our ultimate problem.
Do you want their solution? Do you?
Well… hold your breath…
Exercise and eat healthy.
Exercise and eat healthy.
Exercise and eat healthy.
Shit, seriously? That’s how I lose weight? Oh my god, I’ve never thought of that before. It’s so damn simple! So all I need to do is exercise and eat healthy and I’ll be down to a size 2? You are such a geniu-Beeeeeeep wrong fucking answer.
What is it with skinny people who like to shove their weight loss tactics down my throat? Especially when they’ve never had an extra pound on them in their life. Especially the ones who don’t exercise or eat healthy but insist that if they were fat they would do just that and the pounds would melt off. Just to clarify, exerciseandeathealthy is not the name of a pill that I have to take once a day or a seminar I’ll return from about 50 pounds lighter.
Ok Skinny, I get it. You’re skinny. Good stuff… so are a bunch of other people. But they don’t think they’ve been given a PhD in how to lose weight. Wonder what makes you so special?
But okay skinnies, lets have it your way. Exercise…
I need to walk three days a week for half an hour… which’ll take me about 2 years to get rid of the extra weight so lets bump that up to cardio workouts four times a week because everyone can fit that into their week right? Yeah, so lets ask the single mom whose working two jobs if she can fit that into her schedule. Or the overworked student who barely has five minutes to eat. Or the fifty year old retired actor with a bad knee. Running four times a week? I don’t think so. Walking three times a week? Don’t think so for that either. People’s lives are busier than you can imagine. If you can’t donate an hour of your time a week to the needy, I’m taking it on a whim that you’re not the busiest person in the world and it isn’t too difficult for you to imagine that someone else may have more things to do.
Lets move on to “eating healthy” – which by the way is bad grammar.
You want people to cut out carbs or cut out calories or stop eating some kind of food. Well, people need to food in order to live. And they will eat anything especially if it’s cheap (because they’re poor), if it’s fast to prepare (see above) and if it looks good (don’t tell me you don’t salivate over the sexy piece of ass living next door – it’s human nature to covet). This stuff is usually unhealthy food. We live in a world where everything marketed towards you is bad for you. If you can eat that crap and stay skinny, well, good on you but that unhealthy shit is ending up in your gut too. We’re all human. And remember that fat people are brought up on this shit. They crave it like you crave the limelight.
Ok so say that there is someone who doesn’t have any of the problems listed above and she does exercise and does eat healthy food… and she still doesn’t lose weight. Welcome to my world. If I am diagnosed with PCOS, hypothyroidism or a number of other diseases, I am essentially screwed. If my family genetics dictate that I’ll be 30 lbs fatter than any of you all, I am screwed. If my body just doesn’t want to lose the weight, I am screwed. Wow, I’m screwed all over the place, aren’t I? But no, not you. Because if you ever get fat, you’ll exercise and eat healthy and you’ll be back to 110 in no time.
Keep dreaming that dream, sweetheart. Eventually, everyone gets fat and I’ll be interested in seeing how well your philosophy is working out then.

  1. Oh this is good!
I know some people who are like that.
It bums me out how unhealthy food is so readily available and cheap these days.
I know your problem. I walk an hour everyday and eat healthily and I still struggle to be fit and healthy. It’s just how I’m made.
I just look at the skinny bitches who eat crap and just relish in the fact that when they hit 35-40 BOOM! They pack on the kilos/pounds. Their problem, not mine!
Good luck and keep going with your healthy regime :)

  2. That girl in the picture isnt even pretty. YUCK… I have a little cushin for the pushin! And Im learning to love myself, for who I am!

  3. I know this is completely off topic but I love your style of writing. You are so witty and intelligent.I really enjoy reading your posts.
Anyways, people like that do suck.I used to be overweight and losing weight was a bitch.I wish it was as easy as having a balance diet and exercising. But, that really doesn’t hold true. What worked for me, it’s not going to work for everybody. We are all different and genetics play a big role.People need to stop preaching how it’s supposedly so easy to lose weight.Plus, being skinny does not equal being healthier, better or more attractive. As a matter of fact an overweight person could be even healthier than a skinny individual.I think it all comes down to what Krystal said, what matters the most is learning how to love and accept ourselves. Which in my case is proving to be much more difficult that was losing the weight itself.

  4. Krystal, you’re so right. That’s why I picked the picture- like honestly. Yes, she does look very glamourous but when you take a look at the pic… are those arms or ski poles?
Kara and Consuelodasa, I see so many people who preach the healthy way to lose weight but don’t realize what they’re doing to their own bodies. They’ll learn hehe I hope it isn’t evil to look forward to it.

  5. *pushes rake girl over*
    eww
    seriously thats so yuck LOL
i want to shove my cake (currently eating) in her face & say..food..mmmm yum
p.s your rants always impress me, such a skill xx

  6. The lady in the pic looks creepy
wtf…so much for fashion…where is life??

  7. cheers to girlslashwoman! hehe
man im struggling to lose 5kgs for my best friends wedding haha mind you i dont think eating those mcdonald’s breakfasts after walking for 10kms is helping… but you are so right! haha

the only way i can make time for it is that I walk home from work 3-4 times a week. thats about 5km walk 3-4 times a week.. but soemtimes i think id hate to lose my curves.. cause thats what most guys say they like about me.. im a size (Australian) 10-12 which american i think is a size 8 or 10? and i dont wanna lose my breasts..cause when you lose weight thats the first thing that goes… nevermind your hips, arms, thighs or stomach..its the boobies that go! haha

  8. I just wanted to point out that I’m a douchebag

First of all I would like to bring to everyone’s attention that the above picture that you all find so revolting is— brace yourselves —photoshopped. Gasp! If that girl was really that thin, she’d be dead.

Secondly, I get extremely upset when people use the excuse that they are too busy to cook something healthy. I cook every night and I promise that anyone can make something healthy, cheap, and delicious in 20 minutes or less. And if you want to make something that bakes for a while in the oven, great. Take advantage of that time and go for a 30 minute walk. That’s killing two birds with one stone.

I don’t believe in being stick thin unless you have aspirations of being a model. I do, however, believe in being healthy. I’m tired of plus-sized women talking about how beautiful their fat rolls are, and I’m even more tired of these same women criticizing others for being thin. It’s pure hypocrisy.

  10. Hi Abigail,
    Thanks for your input.
This imagine is not photoshopped to look bone-thin. This model actually does look like that. The possibility of her looking that way without starving herself is close to nil. There is a difference between being thin and being sick.
Secondly, my fat rolls are not beautiful. They are horrendous. I wouldn’t be writing this entry if I thought they were beautiful. I would be admiring my fat rolls in the mirror.
That being said, yes. There are people who are too busy to cook meals. I am not one of these people but I can emphasize with those who are. 20 minutes doesn’t seem like a lot of time to you but it can be for a student working constantly on their dissertation, for a mother with four children, for someone who has two jobs.
In addition to this, creating a healthy meal costs money. A significant amount of money compared to eating unhealthy foods. Just walk into the frozen section aisle, everything healthier is at least twice as expensive than a Hungry Man’s Turkey and Mashed Potato dinner. Unhealthy food is cheap food. For a lot of families, it just isn’t possible. Buying ingrediahts for a healthy meal can cost you up to $25 dollars. A large pizza costs you $10. That’s the plain truth and what many believe is the cause of rampant obesity in North America.
This is why I repeatedly ask people to be open minded and understand that everyone does not live like them. In fact, I can almost guarantee that I eat healthier and exercise more often than you do… yet, I’m probably fatter than you. It’s life. Shit is unfair. But I have enough problems to worry about without people trying to come up with solutions to my issues when they’ve never experienced them.
I don’t tell skinny girls what to eat or how to act or who to date because I assume that they can figure it out for themselves and that there is a reason for why they act the way they act. I don’t immediately contrive a solution to all their problems and insist that of they follow my directions, they will be completely satisfied and everything will work out. Because I don’t know. I don’t have the authority to say that because people are diverse. I will never be able to experience what they are experiencing so I don’t make judgments about them.
All I ask for is the same consideration.

Twenty-five dollars? Here’s one of my recipes that takes 15 minutes to make and it’s cheap.

    Shrimp and Pasta (Two Servings)
1 Red Bell Pepper (diced)- $1.50
Fresh Basil (chopped)- $1.50 (Substitute dried basil for a cheaper alternative)
    Green Onions (chopped)- $0.75
1/2 Box of Bowtie Pasta- $1.00
1/2 lb or less of Shrimp- $2.00
    1 cup Skim Milk
    t tbsp Corn Starch

Boil Water. Sauteee vegetables. Add pasta to water. Add shrimp to vegetables. Combine milk and starch in small bowl, then add to shrimp and vegetable. Strain pasta. Add sauce to pasta. Done. There is a healthy meal for under ten dollars in less than twenty minutes. Promise me you will try it once and let me know how it turns out.

Also, I am an architecture student, so I am fully aware of just how full and hectic a schedule can be.

  12. Abigail, like I said before. I am not one of those people who does not have the money or time to create a healthy meal but thank you for sharing your recipe, I hope someone finds some use out of it.
Being a student, I am sure your understand how hectic someone’s schedule can be. That’s why I’m surprised that you’re not more empathic to those who don’t have the resources to cook three meals a day.

  13. “If you can eat that crap and stay skinny…”

I’ll tell you what drives me crazy.

People are so willing to accept the skinny girl who can eat whatever she wants but doesn’t gain weight. But people have such a hard time accepting the fat girl who eats well and doesn’t lose weight. BOTH FAIL ENERGY IN/ENERGY OUT. If one can exist, why can’t the other?!

  15. Ha, hopefully the girl that wrote this 2-3 years ago, and the ones that wrote the comments, are a lot less bitter by now. Seriously, get over yourselves.
